CloudSEK Becomes First Indian-Origin Cybersecurity Company to Receive Investment from a U.S. State Fund

CloudSEK, a Predictive Cyber Threat Intelligence firm specialising in AI-powered attack detection, has secured a strategic investment from Connecticut Innovations (CI), the venture capital arm of the State of Connecticut, as part of its Series B2 round. With this, CloudSEK becomes the first Indian-origin cybersecurity company to receive funding from a U.S. state-backed venture fund.
The partnership with CI was forged after CloudSEK emerged as a top startup at VentureClash, CI's global investment pitch competition, where CEO Rahul Sasi and product owner Nivya Ravi pitched to a panel including Indra Nooyi, former Chair and CEO of PepsiCo, and Connecticut Governor Ned Lamont.
CloudSEK will use the investment to establish its U.S. regional hub in Connecticut, recruit cybersecurity and AI talent, build academic and research partnerships, and drive region-specific innovation.
Early investors including Exfinity Ventures continue to support the company's long-term growth.
