IKEA arm acquires India-born logistics tech startup Locus

Locus, an India-born logistics technology startup founded in 2015, has been acquired by Ingka Investments, the investment arm of IKEA, for an undisclosed amount. Headquartered in the U.S. with Indian roots, Locus provides an AI-powered logistics management platform that optimizes delivery routes, enhances real-time tracking, and improves supply chain efficiency for global enterprises.
The acquisition will enable IKEA to strengthen its fulfilment and last-mile logistics capabilities, supporting faster, more flexible, and sustainable deliveries worldwide. It aligns with IKEA’s broader “One IKEA” strategy to enhance omnichannel fulfilment and meet growing customer demand for home delivery services.
Locus will continue to operate independently, serving a diverse global client base while expanding its product and engineering capabilities. The deal highlights India’s emergence as a hub for deep technology and logistics innovation, showcasing how homegrown startups are shaping global supply chain transformation.
